MeglioMilano started the project AgenziaUNI in 2009 and has carried it out until December 2011 with the aim of finding regular and decent accommodation for university students living outside Milan. The project has been promoted by the City of Milan, through a call of competitive bid organised by ANCI (National Association of Italian Municipalities), and in cooperation with Milan’s universities.
In the offices of via dei Mille made available by the City of Milan, MeglioMilano has dealt with more than 4000 requests from university students and 2000 requests from property owners, leading to more than 6000 rental mediations.
The aim of the project is to help young people, especially foreigners, who arrive in Milan and are looking not only for accommodation but also for useful information about the city.

MeglioMilano has long ago referred the necessity of updating the rent provisions of Law 431/98 regarding temporary lease contracts for university students, together with representatives of property owners, students and tenants.
Few people know that temporary lease contracts for students foresee a minimum and maximum binding fee still expressed in Lire, but these are being applied with full fare rents, thereby creating irregular and chaotic situations, often without realizing it.
